There are two assignments with an additional concurrent third project. These explore a range of creative and technical problems particular to the ceramic idiom. Grading will be based on attendance, creativity, content of ideas, positive attitude, class participation and ability to use techniques and materials demonstrated in class. Other grading components are completion of bisquing, glazing, firing, individual and group critiques as scheduled, and the final studio clean up. Attendance is mandatory for the full duration of class meetings and is a component of your final grade. Class size limit is fifteen and the class is closed after the first meeting. STUDIO GUIDELINES DFR!$h&j&&&&&& (\*0JjU jU55CJ  *,.F*p:tBBP00ne break per class is allowed, not to exceed 15 minutes " Mandatory attendance for all lectures and demonstrations " No disruptive behavior or working during demonstrations and lectures, please " Regular clean-up and studio maintenance is mandatory, and is a component of the class grade " Failure to participate in final cleanup will result in the drop of one full letter grade " All tools and equipment must be thoroughly cleaned after each use " Follow clay recycling guidelines: very wet clay goes only in the slop bucket, drier clay must be broken into tiny pieces and put in the dry clay bucket. It is the individual s responsibility to keep high fire and/or colored clays separated and recycled away from class clay " Students are expected to work on projects outside of class, 8 or more hours a week " Students are expected to maintain a notebook/sketchbook " Come to class prepared to work, i.e. have tools, notebook, mask, etc& " All projects must be finished in time for scheduled critiques " Projects should be started and completed in a timely manner to accommodate drying time and firing schedules.
