it's all about the green today. and one thought..... the countess has planted a seed.... [pretty apropo for a green day].... it's not about EGO it's about engaging in a conversation. you can't dialgoue until someone "recognizes" you.... this intrigues me to NO end.... i will ruminate.... and leave you with more greens:

I like the fan, too. While I enjoy reading your musings everyday, I must note that sometimes the tail ends up wagging the dog...if we are not thoughtful about where we are headed in life.

Okay here is a part of the journey I took while ruminating about ego/participation/recognition.
First let me say that I was originally thinking specifically about your words "it's not about EGO it's about engaging in a conversation. you can't dialgoue until someone "recognizes" you." To me Aurora's post evoked the question: If our audience does not recognize our message then are we truly conversing?
However, your email brought this all rushing back to the forefront of my mind. In your email you ask if I had the chance to ruminate about ego/recognition/participation? In my mind though I changed that a bit to equal ego/participation/recognition and this took me off in yet another direction which blew my mind. The idea of ego/participation/recognition to me, conjures the idea of the "never ending cycle" via the concept of the chicken and the egg. We must possess a certain amount of ego with which to participate. We must in some small way feel that we have something of value to contribute in order to allow ourselves to experience full participation. When we participate the possibility of recognition sky rockets. For it is difficult to be recognized if we do not participate. And thus recognition (of any sort) affects ego (either negatively or positively) which in turn affects our participation and again the possibility for recognition which again affects our ego ... and so on and so on. The effects of this cycle can be overwhelmingly complex so this is where my journey takes a pause. For I do not believe that any mental journey we take stops, but rather effects until the end of our days.
Oh and lastly I just came across this (http://www.kerismith.com/blog/archives/000362.html), which is an excellent example of this concept of ego/recognition/participation. To participate in her award process you must possess a certain amount of positive ego in order to gain the recognition you seek. Even if you are simply recognizing yourself. I think it is fabulous.
I apologize for the terrible grammar and hideously garbled ideas. I had to write this very quickly to match my train of thought. I hope it makes a little bit of sense. I thank both you and Aurora for taking me on this journey! I feel sure that many others will want to continue on your path.
