(1) IF YOU HAVE NOT YET RESERVED YOUR DOMAIN

• Reserve the domain with a Registrar. Networksolutions used to be the only company that did it, but now there are many companies you can reserve your domain from. I recommend: www.joker.com. Joker.com charges about $12 per year. Use these settings on the Joker.com site when they ask for your DNS server addresses:

     Domain name servers
     Primary:   NS1.MONKEYBRAINS.NET   208.69.40.3
     Secondary: NS2.MONKEYBRAINS.NET   69.22.154.3
     Secondary: NS.MONKEYBRAINS.NET    66.92.187.118

• If they are using Joker (recommended), feel free to have the technical contact set as:

  If MonkeyBrains is not the technical contact, you will have to do more work.
• Fill out the MonkeyBrains' Sign up form.

(2) IF YOU HAVE A DOMAIN ALREADY

Check your Internic Record:

• Remember or figure out who is your Registrar; and go to their website.
• You need to edit your domain record at the registrar you are using. A Domain Record is called an 'Internic record'.
• Follow the directions on their site to modify your domain. You need to update the DNS servers which handle your domain. They need to use MonkeyBrains.net; edit your Internic Record to have the following settings:

     Secondary: NS2.MONKEYBRAINS.NET   69.22.154.3
     Secondary: NS.MONKEYBRAINS.NET    66.92.187.118
  

• Fill out the MonkeyBrains' Sign up form. If you already have a MonkeyBrains' account, just email support@monkeybrains.net
  (If your domain has already been set up on MonkeyBrains, you need not send any email. Rather, you just need to wait 24 hours or so for your Registrar to sync your Internic record to the world.)

(3) HOW TO TRANSFER DOMAIN OWNERSHIP

• The person who owns it needs to go to their registrar and transfer the ownership to you.
